Emily Otts is a faith-based oil painter from Alabama. She grew up in church and got saved when she was a child, roughly the same time she began to fall in love with art. By high school, both her faith and my passion for art had become serious. It wasn’t until college that God gave her the calling to use art to glorify Him. She works to reflect Christ in her artwork and visualize His teachings. All her works have some biblical aspect, whether from God’s Word or through her own personal walk with Christ. No matter the subject matter, it all points back to Christ.

Emily primarily works in oil paints because they allow her to take her time due to their slow drying time. Oil paint allows her to focus on details and blending, bringing rich values together. She also uses it as mixing allows her to create the desired color palette, whether one of muted tones or rich colors. She aims to learn with this medium to achieve her desired result constantly. Aside from oil paintings, Emily loves to illustrate and experiment with other creative endeavors, such as watercolor and sewing.

In addition to her studio art degree, she is also pursuing a minor in music with a certification in graphic design. Her work is fueled by the Holy Spirit and an addiction to coffee. Emily is a woman of many interests and feeds her soul by delving into fandom, enjoying a good book, or listening to her favorite songs. She has a playlist for every occasion and boasts an almost completely thrifted wardrobe. When not in the studio, Emily can be found watching the next big superhero movie at the local theater or relaxing at the beach with her pup, Thea.
